Why do graphic standards matter?
The purpose of a graphic standards manual is to preserve the integrity of the branding identity of Recreational Services. The marketing team has worked hard to create an identity that communicates our department’s mission, vision and guiding principles. Consistency in all communication materials is vital to keep Recreational Services identifiable and accurately represented.

The Outdoors program (previously Touch The Earth) provides opportunities for members of the University of Iowa and surrounding communities to introduce themselves to a variety of outdoor activities. Through a focus on adventure-based learning, the aim is to educate participants with the necessary technical skills, as well as the ethical guidance, to ensure these activities are carried out with a maximum level of concern for the participants and the environment.
The tennis program provides a variety of options for adults and juniors of all ability levels. Clinic programs are grouped by age and ability and cover skills such as stroke production and movement as well as singles and doubles strategy. Camps take place in the summer, during Winter Break, and during Spring Break and allow players to develop skills, play games, and compete. Leagues provide players a competitive setting to play matches against similarly skilled players. Private lessons are scheduled based on player, instructor, and court availability and allow an individual to determine the content of their lesson.
